The challenge
The material spans ten age bands, six growth areas and a mix of activities, downloads, case scenarios and training, yet the typical visitor is a worried parent wanting a quick answer about their own child’s age. The experience had to stay calm, avoid overwhelming them, never read like a medical diagnosis, and keep reading open without an account.
The engineering solution
The journey hangs on one entry point: “Start with your child’s age”. From the timeline, visitors open their stage page — split into typical signs, ways to help, play ideas and when to consult a specialist — then move to short tools such as the ten-minute activity plan and the weekly observation log, and on to courses where a brief form secures a seat with nothing to pay upfront.
Engineering challenges
A bespoke theme with separate, interlinked content types per section; instant search with suggested results and arrow-key navigation; accounts that ask for the user’s role to tailor course suggestions; and enrolment forms that never request a child’s health data, carry explicit consent and block automated spam — all mirrored in a full English edition.
The outcome
One knowledge platform speaking to parents, teachers and specialists in the same reassuring voice, converting free reading into course enrolments, and run by the Milestone team from a single dashboard in both languages.
